This Year’s Beneficiary, Project Outpour
Our 2025 race beneficiary for our 9th Strides for Shelter 5K was Project Outpour. Project Outpour provides free mobile shower access and hygiene services to individuals moving through homelessness.
The Canopy Housing Foundation was thrilled to be able to award Project Outpour $30,048 to fund the purchase of a new truck to transport their mobile shower unit across locations throughout Mecklenburg County. Project Outpour partners with organizations working to help get their guests into permanent, supportive housing and organizations that encounter those who are regularly homeless.
Project Outpour provides free mobile shower access and hygiene services to individuals who are moving through homelessness. In 2024, Project Outpour provided 2,494 showers, hygiene services, and dignity to enhance the overall well-being of the neighbors they serve.
The Canopy Housing Foundation has given away over $242,000 to nine different beneficiaries through Strides for Shelter race proceeds over the course of the race’s nine-year history.
